5 Travel Essentials I Don’t Leave the House Without

5 Travel Essentials I never leave behind!

You have booked your trip, now comes the hard part…packing. Every traveler has a list of things they can’t (or won’t) leave on a trip without. In this post I won’t include things like my passport or phone, but travel essentials that make my life easier and my trip more enjoyable!

1. Tumi carry-ons

Tumi Roll-aboard

Thanks to a tip from Lucky at One Mile at a Time I started using a soft-sided weekender bag in addition to my roll-aboard. This more than doubles the usable space from when I was taking a briefcase. I love my Tumi products and have had no trouble at all with them. My roll-aboard is the Tumi Tactics International carry-on. At 19” it is smaller than 22” maximum that is allowed by most major airlines, but it still has plenty of space for a week to ten days’ worth of clothes if you’re smart about packing!

My weekender bag is the Tumi small soft travel satchel. It conveniently slides over the pull handle of my roll-aboard making it easy to haul all of my stuff through the airport.

2. Mophie Powerstation Plus

The mophie powerstation plus is a portable battery charger that has saved me a number of times. Whether you’re walking around a European city using your phone as a map, or you forget your charger or an outlet adapter, mophie will be there to rescue you! I have the smallest portable battery, but mophie has battery pack that will charge multiple devices simultaneously and charge your device multiple times. The mophie I have is currently 50% on amazon!

3. Sony a6000

Back in February when I started Passports to Life I decided I needed a good versatile camera. After a little research I decided to go with the Sony a6000 mirror-less camera. I chose it because it is slimmer than your typical DSLR camera, yet has many of the same capabilities. I have been able to get some great shots with my a6000 and being a travel blogger a good camera is definitely a travel essential!

I recently found one of my older camera a Sony Cybershot point and shoot camera. I will bring it with me when I go to Singapore in September. I think it will be great for getting higher resolution shots of the cabins of planes and in the lounges.

It is also important I have extra batteries for my cameras when traveling. In the UAE I took close to 800 pictures in 5 days!

4. MacBook Pro

My macbook gives me the ability to write while I am travel. I also have recently begun doing a little editing to some of my pictures. Again being a travel blogger a good laptop is a travel essential. My current macbook is about 4.5 years old, so it is starting to slow down a little bit, but it still gets the job done!

5. My iPad or a good book

Like a lot of people, I enjoy reading while flying. Sometimes it is a personal development book (currently reading the 4 hour work week), other times it is the latest best-selling novel. My iPad mini is the perfect size for reading on and it serves a double purpose when I watch movies or play games on it too. I have also found it useful to jot down ideas for blogs or travel while I am flying.

My list of travel essentials is pretty specific because of the blogging. I do swear by all of these products and you won’t find me in an airport without them!
